Tommy's First Soccer Practice

Today was a super busy day for the Big T-Pants Egerer. He had school, swimming lessons and his first soccer practice. He walked in to our bedroom this morning holding his clothes and said "mom I got my dressed," (which means mom I have my clothes to get dressed)! He was so excited for his day to start. I would love to tell you that he was awesome all day and obeyed and all of that good stuff but I think he spent the evening so excited about his big day that he got no sleep and therefore was a BEAR the WHOLE day. Nevertheless, he had a blast at his first soccer practice and can't wait to play in the games. The first practice consisted of some running, kicking and duck duck goose. Fred and I were wondering where the agilities, suicides and head balls came in... Maybe that will be the second practice!

WE have been doing some kicking at home and he is doing quite well. We keep emphasizing to him that you KICK the ball not carry it. I think he has finally gotten that concept. He proved to be a strong asset on the field, sprinting out first on the run around the 20 yd field, no way Tommy was not going to be first!

Not to be outdone the Mouse sat along the sidelines being the great athletic supporter and rolled around from front to back squeaking like usual!

After a grueling 25 minute practice Tommy got to top off his day with some chocolate ice cream from the local dairy where we stopped to give a little support to one of Fred's co-workers who was promoting the local dog rescue and she didn't show so we enjoyed looking at the big great danes and eating ice cream. All in all it was a good day and I think Tommy is going to be a great little athlete! Our little Striker in the making. Oh BTW, the name of his team is the Giants- an oxymoron of course of the little midgets running around in circles after a ball!
